Academic focus
Prof Dr Marco Richter has been Professor of Business Administration, in particular Tourism Management, at the FHD since 2019. His way of thinking and working reflects an empirically applied tourism science. The common thread in his academic career is interdisciplinarity and integrativity. Accordingly, the expectations and competences of tourists and stakeholders are regarded as significant resources in the co-creation process of tourism services. Heterogeneity and plurality are therefore regarded as premises for the development of innovative, marketable products. In his dissertation, he implemented this principle by demonstrating the influence of emotional disposition, in particular the perceived safety of tourists, on the choice of destination and the preference for specific tourism activities.
