Internships abroad
For students who are interested in a stay abroad, an internship semester offers a good opportunity to gain international experience. In addition to the practical semester, students also have the option of using the lecture-free period for an additional internship abroad.
Internship Company
Internship Company
Students at FHD - Dresden University of Applied Sciences are encouraged to look for an internship in a foreign company themselves. You can obtain information about advertisements and opportunities for an internship abroad from the International Office, the Career Service or your faculty. In addition, we regularly supplement the notices on the bulletin boards at the university - please also inform yourself about possible internship positions in this way.
Recognition
Recognition
If the internship semester abroad meets the conditions of the internship regulations of the FHD, there are usually no problems with recognition. Before starting the internship, you should contact the Career Service, the head of the study program or the examination office and ask about the required formalities (e.g. internship contract, internship report, confirmation from the employer). The International Office and the Career Service can provide you with sample internship contracts in English.
Your internship certificate must be available in German or English after you have completed your internship. If you receive a certificate in another language, you must have the document translated and certified by an official body (translator, embassy, consulate or similar).
Insurance
Insurance
Please inform yourself in good time whether you are sufficiently insured for a stay abroad (e.g. health insurance, liability insurance, accident insurance). If necessary, additional insurances should be taken out. Please also inform yourself on the website of the DAAD about the insurances for students and interns offered there.
Visa
Please note that special residence regulations usually apply to internships outside the European Union. For more information, please contact the embassies or consulates or visit the homepage of the German Foreign Office (Auswärtigen Amtes.).
