The Faculty of Design at Dresden University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of content-rich and technically well-equipped bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the fields of design and media, all with strong future potential:

The program concepts are practice-oriented and interdisciplinary. Our success-driven teaching is delivered by highly qualified professors and lecturers from renowned agencies. Another hallmark of the Faculty of Design is the broad spectrum of academic, artistic, and design-technical courses, as well as numerous practical projects. Our goal is to provide individual support to students and to train independent, responsible design professionals who develop aesthetic, functional, and ecologically responsible solutions using innovative methods. Close cooperation with industry partners helps us continuously adapt our curricula to the needs of the design sector and plays a key role in integrating our graduates into the job market or enabling them to continue their academic education through master’s programs.

Studying within the Faculty of Design is dialogue- and team-oriented. Small study groups and close personal interaction with professors and lecturers create a familiar and supportive atmosphere.

Our Faculty of Design is very well equipped in terms of both technology and facilities. Numerous drawing studios, workshops, studios, and laboratories provide ideal conditions for implementing creative ideas. Students also have access to rooms and technical equipment outside regular study hours.

Accreditation and recognition

All degree programs in the Faculty of Design are accredited, state-recognized, and aligned with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The degrees therefore hold the same recognition as those from public universities and universities of applied sciences and qualify graduates to pursue further master’s studies at other institutions in their respective fields.

Academic advising

We are happy to provide prospective students with personal guidance on the specific content of the programs, the characteristics of studying at a private university, as well as future career prospects and further study opportunities. Students from other universities and applicants with prior professional qualifications are welcome to explore new perspectives with us; we also assess the recognition of previously earned credits and the possibility of shortening the duration of studies.
