Faculty of Design
The Faculty of Design at the University of Applied Sciences Dresden offers the broadly diversified and technically very well equipped degree programmes Graphic Design Screen / Print Media and Media Informatics / Media Design. Both degree programmes lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree. The study programme concepts are practice-oriented and interdisciplinary. Our success-oriented teaching is carried out by highly qualified professors and lecturers from renowned agencies. Another quality feature of our teaching at the Faculty of Design is the wide range of scientific, artistic and design-related courses as well as numerous practical projects. Our aim is to support students individually and to train them to become mature designers who use innovative methods to develop aesthetic, function-oriented and ecologically responsible design. The close contact with partners from the business world, helps us to permanently adapt the study contents to the needs of the design industry and is an important factor in the integration of our graduates into professional life or in the continuation of academic training in the form of a Master's degree.
Studies in the degree programmes of the Faculty of Design are dialogue and team-oriented. Small study groups and personal contact with professors and lecturers create a family atmosphere.
Our Faculty of Design is technically and spatially very well equipped. Numerous drawing rooms, workshops, studios and laboratories offer our students ideal conditions for the implementation of creative ideas. The use of rooms and technology is also possible for our students outside of regular study hours and can also be rented by companies or private individuals.
The multitude of degrees and options is often irritating for first-time students. That is why we are happy to advise you and explain the differences as well as the value of our Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor (Hons). We are happy to offer students from other universities who are not satisfied with their previous choice of study new perspectives and check the creditability of previous credits as well as a possible shortening of the study programme.
All degree programmes at the Faculty of Design are accredited and state-recognised and follow the European reference framework for the awarding of credits. Accordingly, the degree has the same recognition as the degrees of state universities and universities of applied sciences and enables students to join a Master's programme at other universities in the respective subject areas.
