Are you interested in studying at Dresden University of Applied Sciences (FHD) and would like to apply? On this page, you will find all the important information about the application process, application deadlines, required documents, and the procedure and binding nature of your application.

How do I apply to Dresden University of Applied Sciences?

When is the application deadline?

You can apply at any time. The official application deadline is:

  • 31 March for the summer semester
  • 30 September for the winter semester

However, you can still apply after the deadline, as this is only a guideline.

It pays to apply early: higher chances of getting a place + an early bird discount of 400€ on the enrolment fee.

Is my application to the FHD non-binding?

Yes, your application to the FHD is non-binding. We are of course happy to advise you at any time as you make your decision. You can take advantage of offers such as the taster course at any time – before and after your application.

How does the application process work?

  1. Non-binding online application via our application form
  2. We will review your application documents and let you know within a few days whether you meet the admission requirements, as well as provide information on the next steps.
  3. You may be required to take a university entrance examination or an aptitude test.
  4. You will receive your study contract. Your place at the university will be reserved for you for 14 days.
  5. If you decide to study at the FHD, you will send us your signed study contract.
  6. You will be enrolled at the FHD!

What documents do I need for my application to the FHD?

When applying via our online application form, please have the following documents ready to upload:

  • Enrolment application: Please complete this and check the checklist on the last page.
  • Curriculum vitae in table format and passport photo
  • Copy of an identity document (ID card, passport)
  • Certificate(s): University entrance qualification, i.e. General Higher Education Entrance Qualification/Technical College Entrance Qualification/Subject-Specific Higher Education Entrance Qualification/vocational or further education qualification

Haven’t received your school leaving certificate or vocational qualification yet? Don’t worry, you can still apply and secure your place at university! Simply submit your most recent half-yearly report when applying; you can submit your final certificate by the start of your studies at the latest.
