Cora talks about her Tourism & Event Management studies at the FHD

I have always enjoyed planning, organising and running events. Thanks to the small seminar groups, the high proportion of practical work and the enthusiastic lecturers, I learned about the diversity of the event and tourism industry during my studies. Thanks to the FHD's excellent contacts with other companies, I even had the opportunity to write my bachelor's thesis in collaboration with a neuroscience institute and conduct my own study. The broad-based degree programme also served as a springboard to my career as a manager on board the "Mein Schiff" fleet of TUI Cruises. Under the motto "One Fleet. One Crew." I now enjoy contact with around 45 other nations in the crew and provide travellers with an unforgettable holiday. As a department head, I am always glad to be able to draw on my excellent business management training and other core competencies such as human resources management, conflict resolution and effective communication.
