Nicole talks about her Tourism & Event Management studies at the FHD

"Ever since finishing secondary school, I knew exactly what I wanted to study: tourism and event management. It's a diverse field with not just one but hundreds of possible career paths, as we were told repeatedly during our first semester at FHD.
When I started my studies, I didn't realise that I would end up pursuing a career in journalism. The industry is not only exciting because it revolves around the best time of the year – holidays – it is also full of passionate people who are enthusiastic about tourism, and that is inspiring. I had the opportunity to meet some of these people at FHD and call them my lecturers. Their helpful feedback, fairness, relaxed and friendly manner, flexibility in the face of a sudden pandemic and, of course, their professionalism have made me look back fondly on my studies at the FHD. "
