Why did you decide to study Digital Media Design (BA) at our university?
I have been interested in programming since I was a child, especially game development. This sparked my curiosity to understand how digital games are created. When I visited the University of Applied Sciences Dresden, the friendly atmosphere, small classes and course content convinced me to start my studies there.
What were your career goals when you started your studies?
My goal was to programme video games and start my own game development studio.
Did your career aspirations change during your studies? If so, how?
My career aspirations have not changed significantly. However, I have broadened my interest in design and creativity.
How would you describe the atmosphere at Dresden University of Applied Sciences?
The atmosphere at Dresden University of Applied Sciences is calm and pleasant. The small study groups and close interaction with the professors create a supportive environment.
Were there any challenges you had to overcome during your studies, and how did you deal with them?
There were no particular challenges that I had to overcome during my studies.
How did you finance your studies, and what tips can you give in this regard?
In the first few semesters, I financed my studies with my own savings. Later, I found a working student position in a dynamic company in the field of web development.
Which projects or modules were particularly formative for you?
The modules Script Writing, Game Development and Mixed Reality were particularly formative.
What was your most memorable experience during your studies?
A special experience was making films together with my fellow students.
What was your first career move after graduation?
After graduating, I stayed at the company where I had worked as a student trainee.
How did our university's network help you during or after your studies?
I am still in contact with some of my professors, which helps me professionally and academically.
What advice would you give to prospective students interested in "Digital Media Design (B.A.)"?
I recommend that prospective students take advantage of the opportunity to gain practical experience and benefit from the expertise of the teaching staff.
Where are you currently in your career and what are your goals for the future?
I am still working at the same company and am also continuing to develop my skills in game programming.
