It has always been Sarah’s dream to become an actress. Thanks to support from the EXIST-Women grant, she has come a whole step closer to achieving this. She received the grant whilst studying at Dresden University of Applied Sciences.
She had long been interested in film and acting: that’s why Sarah studied Digital Media Design at the FHD. During her studies, she quickly realised that her place was not behind the camera, but in front of it. Thanks to the workshops and seminars offered as part of the scholarship, she honed her vision and took the plunge to move to Berlin.
Sarah: “You want to be an actress? Then go for it! The workshops gave me the courage to actually follow the path I really want to take. With the scholarship, I moved to Berlin and haven’t done anything else since.”

Sarah is currently taking on various smaller acting roles. She found out about the shoot for the short film "Splitter" (DMD24) at Dresden University of Applied Sciences through an open call. Sarah was delighted to visit her old university again.
Sarah: "I’m trying to do as much as possible in acting as a career change. And that naturally includes student films. I made some myself back then, and today I’m on the other side – as an actress – for the other students here."
Sarah highly recommends the EXIST-Women scholarship to anyone interested.
Sarah: "If you have any idea of what you might like to do – even if you don’t have one yet – just go for it!"
We wish you every success in your future career and look forward to seeing you back on our campus soon.
