Academic profile

Diana Vogel-Blaschka conducts research and teaches at the interface between psychology, psychotherapy and quantitative research methods. She works as a freelance psychological and methodological-statistical consultant in research and healthcare and, as a psychological psychotherapist in training, contributes in-depth insights into healthcare practice.

Academic and professional background

Diana Vogel-Blaschka studied psychology at the Technical University of Dresden and earned her doctorate in research methods and statistics. She has gained extensive research experience in various fields, including medicine, education, psychology and computational modelling. Since 2015, she has been training as a psychological psychotherapist with a focus on behavioural therapy, which is expected to be completed in 2026. In this context, she has gained extensive practical experience in psychosocial institutions such as the acute psychiatry department at the Elblandklinikum Radebeul.

Since 2019, she has been working as a freelance consultant, supporting health insurance companies, institutions and healthcare companies with psychological, research methodology and statistical issues. She regularly conducts training courses and workshops on mental disorders, communication skills and dealing with crises and suicidal tendencies.

Research focus and interests

In her research, Diana Vogel-Blaschka focuses on the application of (complex) multivariate methods to practical issues in psychology, learning and education research, and medicine. A particular focus is on the investigation of clinical or educational interventions as well as computer-assisted learning and decision-making research.

Her research topics include the following:

  • Quantitative methods and statistical modelling in psychology, education and medicine
  • Evaluation and optimisation of therapeutic interventions in healthcare
  • Dynamic computational modelling of learning and decision-making processes
  • Interest, motivation, stereotypes and knowledge in vocational and teacher training

Teaching

In her teaching, Diana Vogel-Blaschka emphasises methodological knowledge and scientific thinking as the building blocks of academically oriented practical work. She trains students to critically reflect on information and systematically address issues. She attaches great importance to practical examples and to students developing a well-founded attitude independently and reflectively.

To strengthen her teaching skills, she has obtained the Saxon University Didactics Certificate and the Diversity Certificate from TU Dresden. She teaches in bachelor's and master's programmes as well as in postgraduate courses and also contributes her experience from numerous training courses for health insurance companies and healthcare institutions.
