What made the FHD so special?
For me, it was mainly the small learning groups and the open-minded professors and lecturers.
Why did you decide to study social pedagogy back then?
I chose this degree programme because I wanted to accompany, advise and support people in their different situations and stages of life. After completing my studies, I had numerous areas in which I could work. This means that the work in the various areas (e.g. in child and youth welfare, etc.) is very diverse. The FHD also enabled me to take modules in management (including human resources management and quality management) in addition to modules in social pedagogy/social work.
What were the study conditions like in the Social Pedagogy and Management programme?
The study groups were individually designed. In smaller learning groups, we were able to exchange ideas, discuss course content and interact with professors and lecturers. This also enabled us to approach tasks creatively and engage more deeply with social pedagogy content.
In your opinion, what are the special features of the social pedagogy programme at the FHD?
From my point of view, it was helpful that I was able to complete various internships during the programme. This enabled me to apply my theoretical knowledge in different areas of social pedagogy and gain practical experience.
How did the programme shape you?
I completed my studies at the FHD in September 2020. The programme laid an important foundation for me, as it enabled me to pursue a master's degree in social work. Now, in addition to my current master's programme, I work part-time as a social worker at a school.
