Adventures abroad
A semester abroad gives you the chance to live and study in a country of your choice for six months. You’ll get to know a different culture, experience a different student life and, of course, meet lots of new people and make international friends. Along the way, you’ll naturally consolidate and improve your language skills and gain international experience – something that always looks good on your CV to employers.

Your university network
FHD has a constantly growing international network of university partnerships. This means you can spend your semester abroad at a partner university of your choice. Our International Office will guide you through the entire application process and advise you on accommodation, funding and any other questions you may have.
Benefits of a semester abroad at our partner universities
- often lower tuition fees
- Simplified application / enrolment / registration
- Academic and organisational support before, during and after your semester abroad
Of course, it is also possible to spend your semester abroad at another university with which we do not currently have a partnership.
International Project Weeks
SPLIT, CROATIA
Nine of our students from the Business Administration and Tourism & Event Management programmes travelled to Croatia in April, accompanied by Prof. Dr Jan Endrikat, to take part in the Erasmus-funded Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). The Erasmus+ project, entitled “Current Trends in the Event Industry”, was carried out in cooperation with the ASPIRA University of Applied Sciences in Split. In addition to Dresden University of Applied Sciences and ASPIRA University, other universities from Portugal, Austria and Slovenia were also involved in the project. Thirty students worked together in international and multidisciplinary teams on various tasks, case studies and projects, which they presented to a panel of experts at the end of the project week. Along the way, our students naturally also explored the beautiful coastal city of Split during the project week. One FHD student fell in love with the city straight away and is now planning to spend her semester abroad at ASPIRA University in Croatia.
