Field trip to the Charité in Berlin

Students on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Nursing and Healthcare Management visited the exhibition ‘Perspectives on Nursing in Pictures and Interviews’ at the Charité in Berlin as part of the ‘Career Orientation’ module. Photographs and interviews provided a wide range of insights into everyday nursing life and demonstrated how closely nursing practice and nursing science are interlinked.

The field trip helped the students to deepen their understanding of professional nursing and to reflect on their practical experiences to date. At the same time, it provided them with valuable inspiration for developing their own professional attitude.

Field trip to the Central Sterilisation Department at Dresden University Hospital

Students on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Nursing & Health Management visited the Central Sterilisation and Medical Devices Reprocessing Unit at Dresden University Hospital as part of the ‘Logistics and Procurement’ reflection seminar. During an expert-led tour, they learnt about the various processes involved in the cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation and packaging of medical instruments.

The excursion highlighted the high quality and hygiene standards involved in the reprocessing of medical devices and their importance for patient safety. At the same time, the students were able to link theoretical content from their degree programme with practical insights into professional practice.
