Prof. Dr Dr Chongliang Zhong combines applied research, international practical experience and innovative teaching at the interface between business, technology and society.

Academic and Professional Background

Prof. Dr Dr Zhong completed two PhDs in engineering disciplines at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and at RWTH Aachen University.

He has more than 15 years’ professional and research experience in academia and industry, including around ten years in senior roles at project, product, sector and departmental levels.

His work has focused in particular on applied research, knowledge and technology transfer, as well as strategic organisational development, business development and innovation in both commercial and research-oriented contexts.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Zhong’s research is practice-oriented and situated within the broader context of the ‘Future of Work’. It focuses on the design of work, organisation and leadership in technology-driven and sustainable working environments, and addresses key challenges in strategic human resource management, organisational development and corporate governance.

Teaching

In his teaching, Prof. Dr Dr Zhong adopts an application-oriented, dialogue-based and project-based approach. He teaches on German- and English-language degree programmes at Bachelor’s and Master’s level.

His courses combine theoretical foundations with practical case studies, project work and current issues from the worlds of business and society.
