Digital Media Design students at an international film festival in Belgium
Three of our Digital Media Design students have just completed an intensive and creative week: together with programme director Prof. Fabian Gießler, they took part in the “Thomas More International Film Festival” in Mechelen, Belgium, as part of a blended intensive programme. The annual festival is organised by the university’s “International Media and Entertainment Business Programme” and brings together students from various countries.
A short film in just one week
In just one week, our students shot a complete short film in international teams. This involved developing a script, planning and carrying out the shoot, as well as editing and designing a film poster. On the final day, the results were presented at the major film festival in the university’s public cinema: an exciting moment!

In addition to the practical filmmaking work, our students benefited above all from the international collaboration . Teamwork across national borders, communication in English and working under realistic project conditions were among the most important lessons learnt. But the exchange with other lecturers also made the week a valuable experience for Prof. Gießler.
