Prospects for cooperation with the Dominican Republic

Joint research, international exchanges and practice-oriented projects opened up new prospects for academic collaboration.

On 3 September 2026, the Faculty of Business Administration at Dresden University of Applied Sciences welcomed Iris Joseline Pujol Rodríguez, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, and her delegation. The visit to the FHD was part of her official tour of the Free State of Saxony.

Together with Dean Prof. Dr Antonio Roldán-Ponce, the delegation discussed prospects for potential academic collaboration. Potential areas of focus include joint research projects, the exchange of academic staff and study abroad programmes for students. Technology-related projects and links to business networks were also discussed.

Topics with practical application and international relevance

In terms of content, the exchange focused on tourism and innovation management, as well as strategic analyses and market assessments. In addition, the participants discussed issues relating to health and care policy.

These topics provide points of connection for linking academic perspectives with challenges facing business and society. For the Faculty of Business Administration, the practical relevance is particularly important: international cooperation can provide new impetus for research and teaching whilst also fostering professional exchange across different markets and regulatory frameworks.

International perspectives for students

Such collaboration could also open up new international insights for students at the FHD. Study periods abroad and joint academic programmes offer the opportunity to broaden professional skills and examine economic issues within an international context.

“We would like to open up international perspectives for our students and incorporate questions from business practice into our academic collaboration. These discussions provide a starting point for identifying suitable partners and common topics.” – Prof. Dr Antonio Roldán-Ponce

Dresden University of Applied Sciences would like to thank Iris Joseline Pujol Rodríguez and her delegation for their visit, the open exchange of views and their interest in Dresden University of Applied Sciences.
