Dresden University of Applied Sciences (FHD) has received a special distinction from the perspective of its students: the bachelor’s degree programs Graphic Design: Screen & Print Media, Social Pedagogy & Management, and Tourism & Event Management have been awarded the StudyCheck Trust Mark 2026 “Recommended by Students.”
The award recognizes degree programs that receive exceptionally positive ratings from their students. It is based on authentic reviews and testimonials published on the independent rating platform StudyCheck, taking into account factors such as course content, teaching quality, academic support, organization, facilities, and digital learning opportunities.
Students’ experiences provide valuable insights into the quality of teaching and learning. They reflect how students perceive academic support, study organization, and the integration of theory and practice at Dresden University of Applied Sciences.
For FHD, student feedback is an essential part of the university’s continuous development. The award highlights the aspects of the study experience that students value most and reinforces the university’s commitment to providing a personal, practice-oriented, and future-focused learning environment.
“I am particularly pleased that this award is based on the feedback and experiences of our students. It confirms that we are focusing on the right priorities as a university: high quality in both teaching and student services, practice-oriented education across our degree programs, and individual support that prepares our students as effectively as possible for their professional careers.”
Jasmin Schöne, Chancellor of Dresden University of Applied Sciences
The award-winning degree programs are representative of Dresden University of Applied Sciences’ personal and practice-oriented approach to higher education. The following statements from the Tourism & Event Management and Graphic Design programs illustrate what students value most and how the award is viewed within the respective departments.
“For us, this award is above all the voice of our students. From their very first semester, they experience the Tourism & Event Management program as personal, practice-oriented, and internationally focused. Small class sizes, dedicated lecturers, real-world projects, as well as study-abroad opportunities and internships help them discover their strengths and potential, build professional networks, and find their career path.
The fact that all ten of our current reviewers would recommend the program makes us especially proud because this recognition comes not from our own presentation, but from the experiences of our students. At the same time, we listen carefully to their feedback. Their comments show us, for example, that we can continue improving organizational processes and further strengthen the integration of digital and in-person teaching. We take these insights seriously and use them to develop the program together with our students.”
Prof. Dr. Marco Richter, Head of the Tourism & Event Management Program
The award is also seen as a confirmation of the program’s educational mission within the Graphic Design: Screen & Print Media department.
“This award reinforces our commitment to teaching graphic design not only as a creative craft, but as a future-oriented discipline. What matters most to me is the close mentoring of our students, working on real-world projects, and fostering their individual creative strengths. I am delighted that our students perceive and appreciate these qualities so positively.”
Prof. Mike Wolff, Head of the Graphic Design Program
In addition to providing a strong academic foundation, Dresden University of Applied Sciences places great emphasis on preparing students for the challenges of a rapidly changing world of work. This includes the ability to actively shape change, make meaningful use of new technologies, critically analyze complex issues, and make responsible decisions.
Practice-oriented projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, and close cooperation with professional partners enable students to apply their knowledge, develop their own solutions, and continuously strengthen both their personal and professional competencies.
As a result, graduates develop the skills they need to pursue their careers with flexibility, reflection, and a forward-looking perspective.
Dresden University of Applied Sciences would like to thank all students who shared their experiences on StudyCheck. Their feedback helps make the quality of our degree programs visible and actively supports the ongoing development of the university.
