Successful re-accreditation: Dresden University of Applied Sciences’ degree programmes pass with flying colours

Positive overall evaluation confirms high quality in teaching, supervision, and facilities

The University of Applied Sciences Dresden is pleased to announce the successful reaccreditation of its Bachelor’s degree programs in Business Administration (B.A.) and Tourism & Event Management (B.A.). Both programs have been re-confirmed without conditions as part of an external quality assessment procedure for the period from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2034. This officially underscores the high quality of teaching, study organization, and the practice-oriented approach.

The panel of evaluators particularly highlighted the well-structured design of both degree programs as well as the successful combination of theoretical foundations and practical application. In both the broadly business-oriented Business Administration (B.A.) program and the interdisciplinary Tourism & Event Management (B.A.) program, students benefit from a well-thought-out curriculum that specifically prepares them for the demands of the labor market.

A key feature of both programs is the regularly conducted project modules, which are carried out in cooperation with industry partners. These not only promote the application of acquired knowledge but also strengthen important key competencies such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. The close integration with real-world projects is considered a central success factor of the programs.

The diversity of teaching and learning methods was also positively assessed. The study programs are flexibly designed and take different life situations into account: in addition to full-time studies, part-time and work-integrated options are available. This makes the offerings suitable both for prospective students without professional experience and for working professionals seeking academic advancement.

In the Business Administration (B.A.) program, students acquire a broad foundation in business-related subjects, complemented by specializations such as marketing, human resource management, or sustainability management. In addition, interdisciplinary competencies are specifically developed, which are essential for responsible roles in organizations.

The Tourism & Event Management (B.A.) program stands out particularly for its specialization in two closely interconnected industries. In addition to business fundamentals, the focus is on industry-specific content, intercultural competencies, and international perspectives. An integrated semester abroad and foreign language offerings specifically prepare students for careers in a global environment.

The evaluators also rated the personnel, spatial, and technical resources as appropriate. Students benefit from strong supervision and modern study conditions.

With the successful reaccreditation without conditions, the University of Applied Sciences Dresden once again emphasizes the quality and future viability of its study programs. The university expresses pride in this result, which confirms the continuous development of the programs and the commitment of all involved. At the Dresden university location, this also sends a strong signal for practice-oriented and high-quality academic education.
