As part of the "Interdisciplinary Project" module, students from the Business Administration, Media Informatics & Media Design and Graphic Design courses have spent the last few months working together to develop their own business ideas and conceptualize their possible implementation on the market.
Last week, the 12 interdisciplinary teams presented their results to a panel of experts in 90-second pitches and then answered their questions. A wide range of innovative and exciting product ideas were presented, reflected on and discussed.
The jury, consisting of Dr. Bernhard Blüthner (Managing Director Accenture and Managing Director SALT Solutions GmbH), Martin Schatz (Managing Director DER IMMO TIP GmbH) and Stefan Urlberger (CEO swp software systems), was impressed by our students' business ideas. In addition to many questions about production, financing, cooperation opportunities, differentiation from the competition, target groups and marketing aspects, the jury members also provided helpful tips and suggestions for the further development of the business models. Dr. Bernhard Blüthner also emphasized the relevance of the project for learning interdisciplinary teamwork with regard to later professional practice: "Through this project, you experience what it is like when different specialist areas with different attitudes suddenly have to work together and work towards a common goal".
The founding project of our alumni Nicos Lentzsch and Natalie Lehnart was also presented at the event: With DreamTime-VR, the two have created a guided meditation application with VR glasses for a break from everyday life. Nicos Lentzsch reported on his own experiences and gave the students valuable tips: "You need feedback from outside to realize that the idea is good and really needed". The Exist start-up grant and the start-up advice provided by the FHD were particularly helpful for Natalie Lehnart and him.
