Academic Profile
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marius Brade is Professor of Media Informatics at Dresden University of Applied Sciences (FHD), specialising in interactive programming and game development.
At the FHD, he also serves as Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Transfer, bridging the gap between academia and industry. He heads the NewWorkDesignLab, where innovative concepts for digital work and learning processes are developed and tested in collaboration with industry partners.
Key Research Areas and Interests
His research lies at the interface between user experience, interaction design and cognitive psychology, with a particular focus on application-oriented solutions. A central focus of his work is game-based learning, through which he demonstrates how game-based approaches can improve motivation, learning outcomes and sustained use in real-world contexts.
