Dresden University of Applied Sciences visited the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences at its Linz campus, represented by our Rector, Dr. Heike Zimmermann-Timm. The purpose of the visit was to engage in professional exchange with University President FH-Prof. DI Dr. Michael Rabl, MBA, Dean FH-Prof. Mag.a Dr.in Daniela Wetzelhütter, and FH-Prof. DI Dr. Martin Zauner, MSc.
The discussions focused on current developments in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer, as well as on potential opportunities for deeper collaboration between the two institutions.
Particularly impressive was the strong research profile of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences and its consistent integration of science, practice, and innovation. The discussions revealed numerous starting points for joint activities, ranging from collaborative research projects to innovative teaching and transfer formats.
A particularly promising area of shared interest is Social Work. The discussions highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing the social, technological, and environmental challenges of our time in a forward-looking manner.
The connection between the two universities was established through the Governor of Upper Austria, Thomas Stelzer, whom our Rector met in Dresden in May.
Dresden University of Applied Sciences looks forward to continuing the dialogue and building further bridges between Linz and Dresden – for innovative teaching, strong research, and impactful contributions to shaping a sustainable future.
