To facilitate the transition from vocational to higher education, the FHD recognises previously acquired vocational qualifications. In the event of a planned change of university, successfully completed academic achievements will also be recognised after examination.
In the lump-sum crediting procedure, competencies acquired in an apprenticeship are credited to the degree program. A separate application is not required. This option is currently available for the Bachelor's degree courses "Social Education and Management" and "Nursing & Healthcare Management".
Selected professional qualifications allow direct entry into a higher semester. This shortens the duration of study by one year in the full-time study form and by one and a half years in the part-time study form.
The following professional qualifications are credited across the board on the "Social Education and Management" course:
The "Nursing & Healthcare Management" degree program offers the possibility of crediting the following professional qualifications:
For all other degree programs, study periods, preliminary examination achievements, examination achievements, modules and credits in national and international degree programs that are equivalent to the study content of the FHD will be credited upon written application to the Examination Board. Students must submit the corresponding application for recognition and the documents required for recognition.
Qualifications acquired outside of a degree course (further training) can also be credited if they are equivalent in terms of content and requirements to the course content, preliminary examination work or examination achievements of the degree course. In this case, a written application must also be submitted to the Examination Board with the necessary documents for recognition.
